I asked ChatGPT: "How to live in America as a Black Man?" Here's the response I got.

ChatGPT is a language model developed by OpenAI. It is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm that is trained to generate human-like text. The model is based on the GPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) architecture, which is a type of neural network that is designed to generate text.
ChatGPT is trained on a large dataset of text, allowing it to generate text that is similar in style and content to the text it was trained on. The model can be fine-tuned for specific tasks, such as language translation, question answering, and text completion.
In other words, ChatGPT is a machine learning model that is trained to understand and generate human language, it can be used for various NLP (Natural Language Processing) tasks such as text generation, text completion, language translation, etc.

After reading about ChatGPT on social media and news articles, I was interested in the new AI software taking the world by storm, so after logging on to the ChatGPT site and creating an account, I decided to ask the neural network some important questions.

How to live in America as a Black Man?

Living as a black man in America can be challenging, as black individuals have historically faced discrimination and racism. However, there are ways to navigate this reality while also promoting personal growth and well-being.
  1. Educate yourself on the history of racism and discrimination in America. Understanding the past can provide context for the present.
  2. Connect with other black men. Joining groups or organizations that focus on black men can provide a sense of community and support.
  3. Take care of yourself. Prioritize self-care by engaging in activities that promote physical and mental well-being, such as exercise and therapy.
  4. Speak up about racism. If you witness or experience discrimination, it's important to speak out and take action to address it.
  5. Support black-owned businesses and organizations. This can be a way to promote economic empowerment and community building.

It's important to note that everyone's experiences and perspectives will differ, and it's important to find what works best for you. It's also important to remember that racism is a societal problem and it's important to work with other people and communities to make changes.

My thoughts

ChatGPT is very impressive. As a guy in my 30s, I've seen the rise of the computer age. Starting from restrictive dial-up connections and computer hardware systems that could fill a room to interacting with this contemporary, essay-writing artificial intelligence software, my mind is ablaze.

The only (unqualified) criticism I have is the absence of tone and emotion. Other than that, I wish I had this software in grad school (and undergrad).

Immersive Experiences,

To achieve contact with reality is not to transport oneself elsewhere, it is not transcendence but thorough immersion in one's surroundings. A reality which is neither purely physical nor metaphysical, but both at once.
